Kymco has equipped its electric bike SuperNEX with a gearboxNovember 10, 2018
The prototype of the electric sportbike SuperNEX, presented at the EICM Milan Motor Show, accelerates to 100 km/h in three seconds.
This electric bike is distinguished by the presence of a six-speed gearbox, although most manufacturers of electric cars and motorcycles have abandoned it. Kymco had a reason to do this: unlike the gasoline counterparts, motorcycles on electric traction at high speed lose power and acceleration at high speed is much worse.
Due to the gearbox, the energy supply to the engine is regulated and thus the dynamics of the acceleration are optimized. In addition, the bike is no need to squeeze the clutch. Yes, and many raiders, just like the presence of a gearbox.
According to Kymco, the sportbike is able to reach 100 kilometers per hour in 2.9 seconds, it takes 7.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 200 kilometers per hour, and it accelerates to 250 kilometers per hour in 10.9 seconds. More detailed specifications of the company Kymco does not disclose.
For a more original “growl”, the motorcycle has a traction control and a sound generator with four sound modes. It was also equipped with O.Z. wheels. Racing with Metzeler tires. Brembo brakes and Ohlins shock absorbers.
So far SuperNEX is only a prototype. Kymco does not comment on the possibility of mass production of electric sportbike.
Earlier, the company Elect presented its electric bike Vector Arc. The cost of such an iron horse starts from 117 thousand dollars.
