Kubica: Joy is somewhat clouded by difficultiesMarch 15, 2019
At the end of Friday’s training in Melbourne, Robert Kubica was on the last line of the protocol, after which he complained about serious problems with the handling of the Williams machine.
Robert Kubica: “It’s great that I came back behind the wheel and worked the first training session – it gave me pleasant emotions. Unfortunately, the joy is somewhat clouded by the difficulties that we face. This especially affected the second workout, when the car was somewhat damaged.
We tried to fix it, but, alas, we do not have the necessary spare parts, so we attempted to repair the damaged items. The team tried to squeeze the most out of what was at our disposal, but the car had a handling problem. If it gets damaged again, the problems will only get worse.
In any case, it’s great that we are here in Melbourne. A strange feeling: usually, if you have such a slow car, it is difficult to find some positive moments, but we, as always, try to increase the speed as much as possible. That is the task that the team will face tomorrow. ”
When Robert was asked about the kind of damage in question, he said: “We have to refrain from driving on the curb – in Barcelona, Williams had the same problem. All this is not easy, especially in a situation where you have to make serious efforts just to stay on the track. ”
