Kubica: I am not ready to work only on the simulatorSeptember 22, 2019
In an interview for Polish media, Robert Kubica, who recently confirmed his breakup with Williams, spoke about plans for the future …
Robert Kubica: “There are not many episodes where I could speak. In August, I decided to think about my future career and for a start I asked myself if I want to continue working at Williams. Most recently, a decision has been made – and you know it. Now I have to decide for myself what I want to do. There is no specific date, but I must decide before the end of the Formula 1 season, maybe earlier.
Work only on the simulator? I worked hard for a long time to return to the race at the highest level. I can’t imagine myself locked up in a dark room a hundred days a year. Is that a simulator will be next to my house. But near the house there is no simulator. No, I do not exclude periodic work on the simulator, but I am not ready to do just that.
First of all, I am looking for a place in the race. This is my priority. If you need to combine this work with something else, I will say “Yes”, but not only on the simulator … I have done enough in my life. I want to participate in races and do my best for this. This year you could be convinced of it. I have done much more than the results we have achieved. I’m sure that if I’m in the right place at the wheel of a fast car, I will be able to do my job properly. ”
