KTM motorcycles will be created in ChinaDecember 15, 2019
The partnership of KTM and CF Moto went even further, and now the production of motorcycles will be held at the factory of the last company in China. Mid-volume specimens will go off the assembly line.
Information on the partnership between KTM and CF Moto has appeared a long time ago, many have heard about it. And just the other day, it materialized into concrete agreements. CF Moto started a new venture in Hangzhou several years ago. It is expected that the plant will be ready next year, and KTM will immediately launch production of their motorcycles there.
At the moment, it is known for certain that the KTM 790 Duke and 790 Adventure models will go off of it, and also, possibly, the production of the new KTM 890 Duke R will be moved. The last motorcycle was introduced this year.
If you consider that the younger KTM road models are produced at enterprises in India, and the medium-sized ones are manufactured in China, then the older models of the brand will be of Austrian origin. The latter include such bikes as the 1290 Adventure, 1290 Super Duke GT, 1290 Super Duke R, and the entire off-road line of the brand.
It is worth noting that this provision will not affect the quality of the products manufactured, but it can even very much cost. Experts believe that the concern wants to justify the huge price difference between KTM and Husqvarna, the production of which remains in Austria. But anyway, whether the “Chinese” KTM will become cheaper will only be known in 2021.
