KTM and CFMoto plan to release streetfighter?August 20, 2019
Both companies are well acquainted with each other since they have been cooperating since 2014. But only two years ago they concluded an agreement on the creation of a joint venture, the fruit of which was V.02-NK.
The Asian market is considered the largest motor market in the world, and many Western manufacturers are now striving not only to cooperate with Chinese companies, but to gain a foothold or strengthen their influence, if it was already there. This is beneficial and can give a good impetus to beginners. KTM is not a newbie, but expanding its detail in China is also important for her.
Cooperation with the Chinese company CFMoto began with the transfer of production of KTM Duke 125, 200, 390 models to factories in Hangzhou. The good relationship between them became clear after the Austrians sold their colleagues the 990 cc LC8 engine. By the way, they continued to work on it, focusing on Chinese motorcycles.
In 2017, the joint venture demonstrated the V.02-NK concept, the design of which was worked by specialists from Kiska Design. CFMoto got ceramic-carbon disc brakes and a radiator; they pulled an exhaust pipe under the seat. The motorcycle never went into production.
And recently, there have been rumors among the Chinese media that the upgraded LC8 went not only to the concept bike, but also to a completely new model such as streetfighter. If this is true, then it would become a logical development of relations between the two manufacturers.
