Koenigsegg showed his new hypercar Jesko
March 6, 2019The official presentation of the new hypercar from the Swedish automaker Koenigsegg was held at the Geneva Motor Show. New received name Jesko.
Yesterday the 89th international motor show in Geneva (Switzerland) started, where, according to tradition, world automakers demonstrate their latest developments. At one of the many presentations, representatives of the Swedish automaker Koenigsegg showed a receiver hypercar Agera RS. The latter is a modification of the Agera model, which received quite significant changes – the engine power was increased to 1,160 hp, and the torque to 1280 Nm. There is also a modification with a 1341-horsepower engine. The total weight was 1295 kg.
Now about the novelty, which was called Jesko. According to representatives of the brand, this name was not chosen by chance – that is the name of the father of the founder and CEO of the company – Yesco von Koenigsegg.
Under the hood, the new hypercar is an upgraded version of the 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The maximum power depends on the fuel (octane number) – 1280 “horses” can be removed on a standard brand of gasoline, but if you pour biofuel E85 into the tank, the engine can produce the maximum 1600 hp.
A completely new 9-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed gearbox has been proposed as a transmission, which, according to representatives of the brand, offers an optimal gear shift to accelerate the gears, regardless of which gear is currently selected. “If you need to speed up in a jiffy, and at the moment the seventh gear is selected, the system will easily switch to the third one, for example.”
