Kimi Raikkonen considers James Hunt a geniusAugust 26, 2019
On Friday in Helsinki, a presentation of the works of the famous British photographer Keith Sutton, specializing in Formula 1, and the artist Mark Dickens, a master of the collage, was held.
One of the presented collections is called Formula 1 Champions in Art, which can be translated as “Formula 1 Champions through the eyes of artists”, the other is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Ferrari brand.
A distinctive feature of the collections is that in addition to artwork, they include texts written by hand by famous racers and other famous people from the world of Formula 1.
“These are special texts, because nowadays nobody writes like that,” Sutton said. – And most of all we liked what Kimi Raikkonen wrote about James Hunt, his beloved champion. True, we had to wait a long time for this text. Here is the text: “Genius. Legend. Party-lover. Playboy. Perfect World Champion.”
It’s simple, but we appreciated it! ”
Sebastian Vettel wrote about Jochen Rindt, but Bernie Ecclestone shared his thoughts on this Austrian champion, who tragically died in Monza in 1970. The former head of Formula 1 management, who was friends with Rindt in the 60s, was his business partner and pursued his career, was the only one who refused to write by hand and sent the text in electronic form.
