At the motor show in New York will premiere a new compact crossover Kia Tusker, which will be built on the same chassis with the next generation Hyundai Creta
Kia will unveil a new compact crossover designed for the global market at the New York Auto Show in April. This is with reference to its own source reports the publication The Korean Car Blog.
The novelty will be called Tusker. The crossover will be performed based on the SP concept car shown at the motor show in Indian New Delhi in 2018. Judging by the spy photos, the production car will not be much different from its prototype.
Kia Tusker will be built on the same modular platform as the next-generation Hyundai Creta. On this chassis, it will be possible to create cars with a seven-seater cabin, but the Tusker will be offered exclusively with five seats.
According to preliminary data, the 1.4-liter 140-strong supercharged “four”, which is installed on the third-generation Ceed, will be included in the engine range. In addition, the crossover will be available with a 150-horsepower atmospheric two-liter engine.
The first motor is paired with a seven-speed robotized transmission with two clutches, and the second will be combined with the new iVT variator. The car will be left without a full drive system to eliminate internal competition with the Hyundai Kona.
