An electrified version of the new KIA K8 has been officially presented in the domestic market of South Korea. The new KIA K8 Hybrid 2022 debuts a new plug-in hybrid design based on a new, more powerful and fuel efficient 1.6-liter unit.

The official presentation of the new KIA K8 2022 in the home market was divided into several events. The company published the first images and technical details of the new sedan at various times.

First, the brand showed images of the exterior, and soon after the publication, the first images of the modern interior of the model appeared. The technical characteristics of the new line were declassified only a few weeks later.

Today the first images and data of the hybrid variant of the line have appeared. The KIA K8 Hybrid 2022 replaces the previous hybrid version of the KIA K7, which was offered in several markets with a mechanical scheme based on a 2.4 liter gasoline engine. without a plug-in.

It is worth mentioning a couple of details characteristic of this version. For example, there are new wheels that, ironically, are not visible in these first official photos, HEV emblems on the outside, or a new digital instrument cluster, the interface of which is exclusive to the hybrid variant.

The real novelty of the electrified version of the KIA K8 is its mechanical assembly. Because it introduces a new engine that is very different from that of its predecessor. If the KIA K7 had a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, now the car is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol unit that produces 180 hp. It is connected to an electric drive with a capacity of 44.2 kW (60.2 hp) and an “automatic”.

The new hybrid KIA K8 2022 has a higher power rating. It is efficient because it corresponds to an average consumption of only 5.6 liters per 100 km in its market. The predecessor model produced 6.19 l / 100 km. So far, this version has only been introduced in South Korea.
