Kia told about the new generation of SoulNovember 21, 2018
The second generation crossover will be equipped with a two-liter atmospheric engine or a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine
Kia will unveil the next-generation Soul crossover at the Los Angeles Motor Show on November 28, 2018. According to the press service of the Korean brand, global sales of new items will begin next year. The company said that the range of engines will include a 2.0-liter engine. Also, customers will be offered a 1.6-liter unit with turbocharging. The dynamic characteristics of the car while kept secret.
In addition to the standard Soul, at the motor show, Kia will present a modification called the X-Line with an off-road package. Los Angeles also debits the GT Line version and the all-electric Soul. Most likely, the environmentally friendly crossover will receive a set of batteries with a capacity of 39 kWh. The novelty borrows the power plant from another electric car of the Korean brand – e-Niro. Due to this, the power reserve of the electric Soul will grow to 225 kilometers.
Some of the stylistic elements of the new Soul will be borrowed from the Trail’s concept car introduced in 2015 at the Chicago Auto Show. Already we can say that the second generation crossover will retain the characteristic angular shape of the body. The next-generation Kia Soul will be built on a new architecture that provides for the use of an all-wheel drive system, so it is possible that the crossover will have a modification with four driving wheels.
