KIA Shows Extreme StingerJuly 26, 2019
The company created a racing car, while in a single copy, based on the production version. The model has become more powerful and lighter. Stinger also received a significantly modified suspension.
In the British division of KIA decided to create a track car. As the basis was chosen serial Stinger GT-S, and thoroughly refined. As a result, the new model called the KIA Stinger GT420 has become lighter by 150 kg. Relief carried out by dismantling all the “extra” from the cabin, including the door trim and rear seats. In addition, the engineers even dismantled the multimedia system and the panoramic roof, and the classic battery was replaced with a light version.
However, safety meets all standards of racing cars due to the internal spatial framework. The seats are replaced by Sparco sport buckets with five-point seat belts.
A 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine is used as a power unit. Its power reaches 428 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. In tandem with it works “automatic” on eight steps with improved firmware.
Overclocking to “hundreds” on the Stinger GT420 has not yet been disclosed. We expect the value to be about 4.0-4.2 seconds.
