Kia showed the updated sedan Kia RioOctober 23, 2020
The South Korean brand has presented a restyled version of the budget model Kia Rio for Latin America.
Recall that the new Kia Rio hatchback was presented in Europe in May of this year. However, in our country, a model is sold with the factory index FB, akin to the Chinese Kia K2 family, and in Europe, the hatchback has the YB index, which will now appear in America. By the way, the latter will also receive a performance in the “sedan” body.
Mexican versions of the Kia Rio received a redesigned front bumper, as well as a narrower headlight beam. Also, the new car has a “sports” modification S Pack with a more aggressive design thanks to different bumpers, massive inserts above the fog lights, side skirts, as well as 17-inch wheels and a spoiler.
The interior of the new Rio has hardly received any changes. In more expensive trim levels, the car has a 4.2-inch display on the dashboard, as well as an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. In the performance of the Rio S Pack, blue inserts appeared on the doors, dashboard and seats.
In the basic version, the new car has two airbags, air conditioning and an audio system. In a more expensive version, the number of pillows increases to six, climate control appears, a rear-view camera, a sunroof and cruise control.
The model is driven by a 1.6-liter aspirated engine MPI with 121 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The cost of new items starts at 243,900 pesos for the sedan, and the hatchback received a price tag of 277,900 pesos. The Rio S Pack version costs 341,900 pesos, while the sedan in this version costs 357,900 pesos.
