Kia showed the image of the updated minivan Kia CarnivalJune 18, 2020
The Korean automaker introduced a new generation of its Kia Carnival minivan, which will be available in the third quarter of this year.
Today, the Korean brand revealed details about the flagship minivan – Carnival. The car, recall, is known in several markets under the name Sedona. The model will go on sale in the third quarter of 2020, but so far only in Korea. A little later, the minivan will appear in other markets – this issue is currently being worked out by the brand’s management.
Unfortunately, the company has so far published only pictures of the Korean model specification. They show that the front of the Carnival received a signature Kia radiator grille “tiger nose” (tiger nose), which is combined with high-tech headlights. When looking at the car from the side, a pronounced “waist” line is drawn that extends along the entire length of the body and connects the headlights and taillights.
The roof rack behind the rear doors is made in the form of a characteristic “fin”, and its chrome-plated coating passes to a wide strip surrounding the entire stern.
The Korean minivan is essentially a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta. However, the novelty is 380 mm longer than Innova Crysta, it is 155 mm wider and so large inside that it can be configured as a seven-seater, eight-seater and even 11-seater MPV. Even the external dimensions are impressive – the length is 5,115 mm, the width is 1,985 mm, and the height is 1,740 mm. Moreover, the wheelbase is also longer than 3 meters and is 3,060 mm, which, as already mentioned, makes the Korean model longer than Innova Crysta.
The focus will be on second row seats. In the car, there will be retractable foot supports and armrests in chairs, as well as a multimedia package with two 10.1-inch screens. The options will also include two sunroofs, an adjustable driver’s seat with electric drive and memory function, three-zone climate control and many safety systems.
The Kia Carnival will be driven by a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that will transmit power to the front wheels. The engine develops 202 hp. power and torque of 441 Nm. Both mechanical and automatic gearboxes with 6 speeds will be offered as transmissions.
