KIA showed the appearance of the new OptimaNovember 12, 2019
KIA Motors introduced the exterior design of the new generation Optima. Designers tried to convey a sense of speed and energy.
The Korean company introduced the new generation K5 (in other markets, the model is better known as Optima). The car received a more dynamic figure, an increased wheelbase and a lower profile. The dimensions of the car were increased, respectively, more space appeared in the cabin. The length of the new Optima version is 4,905 mm, the width is 1,860 mm, the wheelbase is 2,850, and the height has been reduced to 1,445 mm, making the sedan even lower.
The front of the car is called the “face of the tiger,” it combines the signature KIA radiator grill with headlights. The front panel has an aggressive and austere look, resembling the mouth of a shark, but there is nothing to do with it. This appearance was designed for the best dynamics. Daytime running lights received a new graphic resembling a heartbeat on a cardiogram.
On the side, the expansion of the wheel arches is especially noticeable. A long bonnet line gives the car a sporty look, while original two-tone wheels complete this style.
The taillight extends to the entire rear side from the left wing to the right. A graphic image in the form of a cardiogram can also be seen on the rear optics, as is the case with daytime running lights on the front of the car. Thus, designers convey a sense of speed and energy. The rear bumper has a textured design and chrome trim to enhance dynamics.
It is expected that the new generation KIA Optima will begin to be released next month.
