And this is not the only new KIA model that will pass by the Europeans. The new Seltos crossover will take a step between the current versions of the Kia Soul and Sportage.

According to Emilio Herrera, director of Kia Motors Europe, Europeans prefer their own model line. While the larger Sportage and Sorento models are in demand in the local market, there is no point in releasing another crossover. Nevertheless, KIA Seltos will take its rightful place in the international market. As planned by the company, it will have to compete with Nissan Rogue Sport, Jeep Compass, Ford Ecosport and Hyundai Creta.

At the start of sales, a version with only a 2.0-liter engine will be presented, capable of developing up to 149 horsepower and 180 Nm of torque. Later, the base version of the Seltos will appear with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine capable of developing up to 123 hp. and 150 Nm. It is possible that a turbo version with a 1.6 T-GDI engine will appear, capable of developing up to 177 forces and 265 Nm.[IP]&ua=[UA]&domain=[DOMAIN]&page=[PAGE]&secure=[SECURE]&language=[BROWSER_LANGUAGE]&bidfloor=[BIDFLOOR]&gdpr_consent=[GDPR_CONSENT]

KIA is also not going to release a new generation of K5 sedan (Optima) in Europe. The official reason is not called. But we can assume that this is due to a sharp drop in demand for Korean sedans.

In the meantime, Hyundai and KIA will conduct a large-scale recall campaign. We are talking about 640 thousand cars of Korean brands. All repairs will be carried out free of charge.
