
KIA Seltos can get an electric version

KIA, following the success of its electric cars Soul EV and e-Niro, decided to attract new customers to its recent KIA Seltos novelty with an electric version. In the model range of the brand, this crossover is located between Soul and Sportage, and it is for him to read TheKeea electric drive. According to media reports, the electric KIA Seltos can get a 201-horsepower electric motor, combined with a 64 kW / h battery. The same Soul EV with such a “filling” is capable of driving about 452 kilometers and 485 kilometers through the WLTP cycle without recharging. KIA has a more modest electric engine – 134 hp. He gets a battery of 39.2 kW / h and a range of 277-312 kilometers.
It is noted that the Korean automaker will not take Seltos EV outside of Asia. So, first, a new product may appear in South Korea, then it will reach India and, most likely, China. In this regional market, zero-emission vehicles are still in high demand.
So far, an electric car based on Seltos is known under the factory index SP2 EV. It is expected that the novelty will be on the assembly line in August next year.
