Kia revealed updated Niro crossover
February 28, 2019Kia unveils the updated Niro hybrid crossover. The public debut of the novelty will take place at the Geneva Motor Show. Also on the motor show will be shown a hybrid with the possibility of charging from an external source Niro Plug-in Hybrid. According to the press service of the Korean brand, car sales in Europe will start in the second quarter of 2019.
The restyled Niro comes with a 1.6-liter T-GDi engine with direct fuel injection. Together with the engine, a lithium-ion polymer battery (on hybrid versions) works with an energy reserve of 1.56 kWh (for Niro Hybrid) or 8.9 kWh (for Niro Plug-in Hybrid). Power reserve on one electric in Niro Plug-in Hybrid in the city is up to 65 kilometers.
The updated crossover has received a brand-name tiger-nose grille, new bumpers and LED optics. A 10-inch widescreen LCD display and a 7-inch TFT dashboard screen are installed inside the car. Also restyled Niro received a traction coupling device that allows you to tow a trailer weighing up to 1300 kilograms.
Another Kia premiere in Geneva will be a concept that will demonstrate the future of the electric car brand. The press service said that a fully electric four-door car does not comply with the traditional framework of classification of cars. The company said that the model will combine the elements of a sports car, sedan and crossover.
