Kia registers Kia trademarks EK and EVJanuary 21, 2021
The Korean company Kia is carrying out a major update.
Kia recently unveiled its new logo and slogan, but that was just a small fraction of what lies ahead. Kia will have up to seven new dedicated electric vehicles from now until 2027, so the company is introducing new trademarks such as EK (EK1 to EK9) for regular passenger cars and EV (EV1 to EV9) for SUVs / crossovers. …
Kia will take the lead in the global electric vehicle market, responding to rapidly growing global consumer demand. To achieve this, the brand will launch a wide range of dedicated electric vehicles and partner with EV charging companies around the world.
“Kia has sold over 100,000 BEVs worldwide since the launch of our first production BEV in 2011, the Kia Ray EV,” said CEO Song. “Since then, we have launched a number of new BEVs for global markets and have announced plans to accelerate this process in the coming years. By refocusing our business on electrification, we aim to have BEVs representing 25% of our total global sales by 2029. ”
In line with Kia’s new strategy announced in early 2021, the brand plans to expand its BEV lineup to 11 models by 2025. The first of these BEVs, codenamed CV, will be introduced between April and June 2021 as the brand’s first dedicated BEV targeting many regions of the world. The new model will offer the same competitive product quality and attractive design as other high performance Kia vehicles.
