Kia K5 overturned in a jump between two trampolinesSeptember 21, 2020
For a dangerous stunt, the business sedan Kia K5 was thoroughly modified
Kia has conducted an unusual experiment on the new K5, which replaced the Optima: the business sedan was forced to roll over in the air 360 degrees in a horizontal plane. The company warned that the trick was performed by professionals on a significantly modified car, so you should never repeat it yourself.
The business sedan was equipped with a racing bucket seat, additional engine protection, five-point belts and a roll cage. The airbags, in turn, were disabled so that they would not be deployed at the time of a hard landing. The stunt was performed on the K5 in the GT configuration, equipped with a 290-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo engine: the car jumped from one ramp to another, in the process turning around its axis 360 degrees.
This is not the first time the Kia K5 has performed such a number. Earlier, the company published another video in which three sedans were involved at once: two of them were jumping from ramps towards each other, while the third drifted between ramps.
Last summer, another South Korean sedan performed several spectacular stunt numbers at once. The Genesis G70 repeated the famous Fast and Furious scene with a U-turn under a semi-trailer at speed, and then drifted through the city streets, as in the movie “Baby Drive”. That same year, stunt performer Terry Grant rode the Goodwood Circuit on two wheels in a Jaguar F-Type R coupe.
