KIA is preparing to debut a seven-seater crossvan based on the Sonet modelApril 5, 2021
This is evidenced by the first spy photos of the car, which recently appeared on the Web.
The Korean company KIA may soon introduce a new 7-seater crossover. According to the portal “New Cars”, the novelty will be based on the KIA Sonet crossover. The first spy shots of a car make it possible to assess the appearance of the car. The length of the novelty will reach 4.5 meters, which will allow it to compete with the Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta.
Compared to the Sonet model, we see a longer wheelbase on the new SUV. Between the two cars, you can see a clear similarity in the front part, but the taillights turned out to be fundamentally different. The motor range should be transferred to the cross-van from the donor. In this case, a 1.5-liter “aspirated” with a capacity of 100 hp is used as the base engine, and a 1.0-liter turbo engine will be able to produce 120 hp.
The front fascia in the cabin can also be completely transferred from the KIA Sonet – then we will see the digital instrument cluster and multimedia system with a floating effect. The equipment will include 6 airbags, all-round cameras, ABS and a frontal collision avoidance system.
The car can be presented in April this year. It will happen in India – this will be the main market, but live sales must be expected until the end of the year.
According to preliminary data, the new cross-van will cost 900 thousand in rubles, which is 200 thousand more than Sonet.
Previously, KIA brought the Sportage 2022 crossover for testing. At this stage, the novelty is hidden by a very dense layer of camouflage.
