KIA introduced the simplest version of the “cheap” SportageDecember 14, 2018
KIA had previously decided on an “experiment” and launched two Sportages onto the market at once – one built on a new platform and the other on a previous, but with a revised design. Now the “cheap” version has received a new turbo engine.
In the spring of 2018, a “cheap” version of the KIA Sportage was introduced in China. A distinctive feature of the model was the old platform, used on the generation sold in Russia from 2010 to 2015. This allowed the company to bring to the market a crossover in a cheaper segment with a name proven by time. The model received a completely redesigned interior and exterior design.
Up to this point, the old man in the new guise was offered with a no-alternative 2.0-liter engine with a capacity of up to 160 horsepower. Now the company has decided to expand the engine line at the expense of the 1.4-liter turbo engine, capable of developing up to 140 forces and 242 Nm of torque. Together with it a robotized box is installed on seven steps. Drive can be front or full.
Chinese Kia Sportage is slightly smaller than the global model: length – 4 460 mm, width – 1 850 mm, height – 1 670 mm, distance between axes – 2 640 mm, clearance – 182 mm.
