KIA introduced the new Kia Karnival minivan for testingApril 9, 2020
On April 7, in one of the prestigious areas of Seoul, the current and upcoming Kia Karnival models, working side by side, were seen.
Both cars received a “high limousine” body with an extended roof. The dimensions of the new Kia Karnival are 5,155 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, 1,740 mm in height and 3,090 mm in the wheelbase. Compared to the current model, the length increased by 40 mm, the width increased by 10 mm, and the wheelbase by 30 mm. Despite the dense layer of camouflage, you can consider that the new product has grown in height and received increased ground clearance.
Although the specific information on the range of engines is unknown, it is expected that it will be similar to the new Sorento, located in the same weight category. The frame SUV has a 2.2-liter diesel engine, a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid, and a 2.5-liter gasoline turbo engine.
According to preliminary information, the revived CNG will appear in the engine range, which Karnival lost in the second generation along with all-wheel drive. If LPG engines using liquefied gas are added, it is very likely that the new generation of minivans will be equipped with a 3.0 LPi engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The new car is expected to be released in July.
