Kia has shown an updated version of the Stonic subcompact cross.
The most important innovation was the emergence of a “mild” hybrid consisting of a 1.0-liter turbocharged T-GDi engine and a 48-volt system. The unit is offered in two boost options: 99 and 118 hp. (200 Nm). Together with the motors, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed manual transmission can work.
At the same time, the line of engines is also represented by a 99-horsepower 1.0-liter T-GDi engine in conjunction with a 5-speed “mechanics” and an optional 7-band DCT, as well as an 83-horsepower 1.2-liter power unit.
In addition, the updated model received an 8-inch infotainment screen with navigation and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 4.2-inch digital dashboard and much more.
The 2021 Stonic also features a frontal collision avoidance system, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, intelligent cruise control, speed limiter and other options.
As for the exterior, only LED headlights are new here, in addition, the color palette of the cross has been replenished with two shades: Azure Blue (blue) and Storm Gray (gray). The color range now includes nine shades that can be combined with contrasting roof options, including the new yellow Zest. For a surcharge, you can buy 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
Acceptance of orders for the updated Kia Stonic in Europe will begin in the third quarter of this year.
