The European modification of the electric crossover Niro will receive an increased power reserve and a new name. The premiere of the all-road car will take place in Paris
The company Kia will bring to the motor show in Paris, which opens in October, an electric version of the crossover Niro for Europe. Sales of new items called e-Niro, will begin at the end of this year, reports Carscoops.
The electric car will be built on the basis of the hybrid Niro, which was introduced in 2016. Power plant will borrow the car from Hyundai Ioniq Electric. For the European market, the power reserve of the electric car will be increased to 485 km. When using a 100-kilowatt fast charge system, the battery reserve can be replenished up to 80% in 54 minutes.
All-terrain vehicle will be equipped with an electric motor, developing 204 hp. and 395 Nm of torque. The unit will allow the electric car to accelerate from place to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.
The list of auxiliary electronics will include a system for preventing frontal collisions, the function of observing the range of motion, adaptive cruise control, and a system of assistance when leaving the parking in reverse. Also the car will be equipped with a new generation audio system with 8 speakers.
In the future, Kia plans to create a new hydrogen car. The premiere of the car should take place in 2021. The car will not be based on any of the existing models. The fuel cell engine will be about 15% smaller than the 2.0-liter Kia engine, but it will be 10% more powerful than it. The reserve of the car at one gas station will be about 800 km, and the maximum speed is about 170 km per hour.
