Kia electric crossover spotted in testsFebruary 4, 2021
South Korean brand Kia has begun testing a prototype of its all-electric crossover. The spotted car received a large number of different disguises. The debut is expected later this month.
Kia will unveil its first electric vehicle very soon. The automaker has already confirmed its plans to release its first model based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) at the end of February this year, which means the debut is just around the corner. We don’t know what this car will look like, but new “spy” photos showing its test version allow us to get acquainted with the car.
The prototype of the electric novelty, the body of which was covered with a huge amount of varied camouflage, was captured in Germany.
The front panel is fully enclosed and the rear even has some fake body panels. Almost every part of the exterior is camouflaged except for the 20-inch rims, which have a very interesting propeller-style design and are wrapped in massive 255/45 tires. We also see the plastic wheel arch liners. The mirrors have a very irregular shape and are equipped with built-in cameras for a 360 degree video system to function.
Kia has already confirmed that its upcoming EVs will receive simple designations from EV1 to EV9. Rumor has it that the car in these photos will be a mid-range crossover and will most likely be called the EV5 or EV6.
In fact, Kia hasn’t only released teaser images of the two electric vehicles. One is a midsize crossover and the other is a small hatchback.
