The South Korean KIA Motors will soon present the Cerato sedan for the Chinese market, which is sold there under the name K3. On the eve of the public premiere, the company published photos of the car, and also revealed some of its characteristics.
The new generation of Cerato has been on sale in Russia since September last year, but the Chinese K3 has been updated only now, and it differs significantly in appearance from the Russian version. Judging from the published photos, the Chinese K3 received new fenders, hood, headlights and front bumper with sharp air intakes. He also has a different grille with vertical lines in the spirit of Maserati cars.
The rear also has differences: the K3 has a different bumper with exhaust pipes installed in it, while the lanterns have different graphics. As for the dimensions, the K3 is 20 mm longer than its global counterpart, whose length is 4640 mm.
But there are no photos of the interior, but something is known about the power plants of the machine. The basic version of the K3 in the local market will be equipped with a 1.5-liter atmospheric “four” with 115 hp. from local elantra. They will also offer a turbocharged version with a 1.4-liter engine producing 130 hp, and the hybrid version will be equipped with a power unit from the Niro crossover. It is based on a 1.6-liter atmospheric engine with a power of 104 hp, which is paired with a 43-horsepower electric motor. The power reserve for electric in this version reaches 65 kilometers.
KIA K3 will be released at a joint venture KIA Dongfeng. The public premiere of the car will be held at the Shanghai Motor Show, which will be held from April 16 to 25.
