Kia Ceed family introduces diesel-electric hybridsJuly 10, 2020
Ceed and XCeed hatchbacks, Ceed SW and ProCeed station wagons have acquired the EcoDynamics + diesel-electric unit, already under the hood of the Rio, Sportage and Hyundai i30 models, for the European market. On Thursday, July 9, they said in the press center of the brand.
The system was built “around” a 1.6 CRDi turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 115 or 136 hp. (280-320 Nm). Two types of gearboxes are offered: the 6-speed iMT manual transmission and the 7DCT 7-band transmission.
A moderate hybrid of the South Korean brand has such advantages as fuel economy (consumption ranges from 3.7 – 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers), a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions (by 5 – 10%, to 96 – 109 g / km) and spending on use.
It should be emphasized that a diesel engine that does not have an EcoDynamics + system is no longer available on the European market, while it provides a guarantee for 7 years (+2) or 150 thousand km, whichever comes first.
In addition, it was recently noted that the Kia brought to the test a mysterious model. Apparently, this is the upcoming electric crossover of the Korean brand.
