KIA brought a special Stinger to New York with drift modeApril 18, 2019
The car from the special drift series was named KIA Stinger GTS. And its distinctive feature, in addition to the new all-wheel drive system, will be a limited edition.
As part of the auto show in New York, the Korean company KIA presented a special series KIA Stinger GTS, which will be released on the American market this spring. It is known that a very limited number of buyers will be able to acquire the new Stinger – the manufacturer plans to release only 800 of these machines with a special drift mode. By the way, the advanced all-wheel drive system D-AWD with the added drift mode is the main feature of this sports fastback. With its help, the manufacturer was able to fill the “gap” in the characteristics between the versions of Stinger GT with rear and front-wheel drive.
The driver will be able to choose between three modes of operation – Comfort, Sport and Drift. The first two send 60% and 80% of power to the rear axle, respectively, and with the last mode, the Stinger GTS becomes a pure rear wheel drive car.
Under the hood, the new engine hides – the three-liter twin-turbo V6 with a capacity of 365 horsepower, combined with an eight-speed “automatic”. An exclusive bright orange shade of a body, sports elements from carbon and a special emblem «GTS» indicate the Stinger belonging to a special series. When finishing the salon, the manufacturer made a choice in favor of better materials – Alcantara and suede.
