A teaser for the new Klaimbhana published
Tire manufacturer Toyo and Ken Block have published a teaser for Climbkhana Two: Tianmen Mountain. On November 18, Bloc will drive along the famous 99 Turn Road, which is also known as the “Road to Heaven,” on its 927-hp Hoonitruck drift pickup truck. Here, in September, the Volkswagen ID.R. set a high-speed electric lift record.
Tianmen Mountain is located in southern China and is 1,519 meters high. At its top is located the natural arch “Heaven’s Gate” with a height of 131.5 meters, to which there is a staircase of 999 steps – this place is deeply connected with Chinese mythology and is revered by local residents. On the serpentine leading up, Block will have to drive on a truck with a 3.5-liter engine, borrowed from Leman Ford GT.
The “99 Turns Road” attracts automakers with its sophisticated configuration. It has repeatedly set records, but the official one belongs to the prototype Volkswagen ID.R. In September, pilot Romain Dumas climbed the serpentine in 7 minutes 38.585 seconds, breaking the previous unofficial achievement of the Range Rover Sport SVR by more than two minutes.
