Karma SC2 electric car accelerates to 100 km / h in 1.9 secondsNovember 20, 2019
The American company Karma Automotive presented at the LA Auto Show 2019 the Karma SC2 hypercar with a 1,100 horsepower electric motor and a futuristic design. Outstanding dynamic characteristics have become a key feature of the new product: the sports coupe is gaining 100 kph on the speedometer in less than two seconds.
The concept car is equipped with a sports brake system with carbon and ceramic elements, a suspension on the wishbones and a gearbox with address distribution of torque. According to the developers, it is capable of accelerating to 100 km / h in less than 1.9 seconds. A capacious battery of 120 kWh provides an electric car up to 560 kilometers without “refueling”.
The novelty is equipped with two doors with a lifting mechanism and glass with the function of adjusting transparency. To access the control, fingerprint and face recognition technologies are used. Driver assistance systems include lidar, long-range radar and a range of cameras.
The electric car is also equipped with a Drive and Play monitoring system that stores information about braking, air temperature, changes in lighting and even the music that the driver played along the way. The recording can subsequently be played back to analyze the trip.
Karma SC2 was produced in a single copy to demonstrate the automaker’s open platform, on the basis of which it is planned to develop new models of hypercars.
