Karma again shows a prototype modular platformMay 2, 2020
Karma announced in early April that it can deploy its modular platform for a variety of purposes, and is now demonstrating a third prototype.
The Karma E-flex platform can be used for several types of vehicles: from stand-alone vans to sports cars. The first type is now being discussed as a solution for EREV: electric vans with increased range. In fact, this is an elongated version of the platform, which is located under the current production electric car Karma Revero GT.
Now Karma wants to show that the base can also be used for vehicles larger than Revero. We are talking about the EREV E-Flex Van platform, the installation of which is slightly dependent on the technologies used in the bus, but should allow placing batteries that allow the electrified van to travel up to 644 km.
“Karma is leading the way with power platform solutions for new and existing partner products. Our Karma EREV E-Flex Van platform offers many electronic drivetrain configurations and a flexible design. We provide our partners with the foundation to create mobile solutions in their own way, while integrating Karma technology, which was introduced and confirmed by our 2020 Revero GT on the road today, ”said Lewis Liu, Vice President of Business Development at Karma Automotive.
