Journalists got a prototype of the new Mercedes-Benz C-ClassDecember 14, 2018
Unfortunately, the car is completely covered with camouflage film, “thanks to” which is almost impossible to discern its exterior. The presentation can be expected year commercials in 2020.
A couple of minutes ago, we received pictures from the tests of the updated Mercedes-Benz C-Class. I note that the very first such photos of the German news, we published a few weeks ago. The prestigious model, which will be positioned as a 2021 model year sedan, is covered with a thick layer of camouflage film. It is reported that the car was captured at the Lapland test site of the German automaker, which is located in Finland.
What then, what now, Mercedes-Benz engineers are testing early prototypes of the new C-Class.
In addition to camouflage, the car also has bulky front panels in order to hide the false radiator grille, front bumper and part of the bonnet. The rear lights, obviously, are prototypes – temporary substitutes, and on the trunk and rear panel there is an additional lining to hide the design changes.
We expect the next C-Class to be completely new. It will be built on a modified version of the MRA2 platform with rear-wheel drive layout. Insiders report that the wheelbase and external dimensions must match the current C-Class. However, space in the cabin should be added.
So far, there is no data on when the presentation of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will take place. Given the fact that the current version of the model was presented not so long ago, the show can be expected in 2020.
