Journalists got a prototype of an updated electric car Renault ZoeJune 5, 2019
The French electric car of the new (second in generation) Renault Zoe generation will debut in the coming weeks. The power reserve of the French novelty will be 402 km
With the advent of the electric version of the baby Peugeot 208 and the closely related German equivalent Opel Corsa-e, it is safe to say that the competition of electric cars in Europe is heating up. This story takes a new turn after the German brand VW began accepting orders for the electric hatchback ID.3, and the Czech Skoda has just introduced a fully electric Citigo. I must say that the Spanish SEAT also does not “doze” – yesterday he told about the electric version of the Mii model.
Renault is also not wasting time, as the brand’s engineers are currently putting the final touches on the second-generation Zoe electric car. Despite the heavy camouflage, which was seen on the prototype of the French novelty, it seems that the exterior will remain unchanged despite the fact that the original Zoe was released about seven years ago.
This is not surprising, given that project manager Lawrence van den Acker said a few months ago that the updated Zoe would be “a serious update to the original car, and not a completely new vehicle.”
We expect that in the new Renault Zoe hatchback, some exterior elements will appear from the fifth generation small model Clio. The same car will also share with electric cars and interior. The new Zoe will keep the rear door handles mounted high near the central pillar, which everyone probably won’t like.
It is reported that Renault engineers are working on some fairly significant modifications. It is assumed that instead of adapting the current Nissan Leaf electro-hatchback platform, the Zoe 2020 model year will receive a separate, fully-electric platform. Power reserve will be 402 km.
