Journalists caught the updated Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 without camouflageMarch 27, 2019
Porsche guys can show 718 Cayman GT4 already in June at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a few days earlier, the car can be shown on the Internet.
A more powerful version of the German coupe Porsche 718 Cayman was spotted on the Nürburgring race track (Germany). The lack of disguise on the prototype is an obvious sign that the official presentation of the new product is just around the corner. Foreign publications have reported that the guys from Porsche can show 718 Cayman GT4 in June at the Goodwood Speed Festival. A few days earlier, the car can be shown on the Internet.
Porsche has already introduced the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport racing car, so we understand quite well what to expect from its less powerful version, which is allowed to drive on public roads. It is assumed that initially the car will be sold exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a little later the dual-clutch gearbox will be available (late 2020).
Under the hood, the German novelty may have a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter engine with a row “six”, which develops 420 horsepower.
The car will lose as much as 50 kg in weight – this will be possible by installing thinner glass and removing some of the amenities available for existing Cayman models, as well as making other changes.
These “spy” images from the Nurburgring show that the updated GT4 will become more aggressive in appearance than the GTS. We are talking about more powerful air intakes in the front, a stocky rear wing, a new sports diffuser, in which are installed dual exhaust pipes located on the sides.
