Journalists caught the updated Audi A6 AllroadMarch 13, 2019
The test prototype of the German news looks ready for the start of production. The presentation of the car will take place at the end of this year.
Audi is in the process of expanding its lineup of crossovers (Q series), but at the same time, it is well aware that not all people are fans of such cars. For those who need a large ground clearance, but crossovers, and especially SUVs have nothing to do with it, the company offers off-road versions of conventional models with the Allroad prefix.
At the end of this year, the new generation A6 Allroad will be presented, but for now our colleagues are publishing “spy” pictures of this car.
For some reason, Audi engineers are still camouflaging their prototypes, as if the disguise hides what we have not yet seen. The test sample seems to carry a fully serial body, including powerful wheel arches with additional plastic body trim. An elevated suspension is most noticeable when looking at a mid-size station wagon from the side.
Slightly modified front and rear bumpers are also part of the off-road version of the model, but knowing Audi and how it designs its cars, the differences between the regular A6 Avant station wagon and the Allroad performance will not be obvious. All the same should happen with the salon news, although some changes still have to be.
Audi will present the A6 Allroad in September in Frankfurt. In addition to the Allroad model, the A6 family will be expanded to include more powerful versions of the S6 sedan / S6 wagon (Avant), as well as the “hot» RS6 Avant. There are some rumors about the return of the RS6 sedan.
