Journalists caught the prototype of the new Porsche Taycan sedanMarch 23, 2019
Spy pictures, published by the Danish edition of Pro-Street, show the prototype of the electric Porsche Taycan sedan – the novelty passed road tests on roads around the city of Copenhagen.
In general, Porsche loves to use black test prototypes of its new products, and then cover them with black film. This method greatly complicates the consideration of the car body. At the rear of the car, the tailpipes can trick most drivers into thinking that this is a Porsche with an internal combustion engine – although this is not the case.
Production of the Taycan model will begin in September of this year, and in some markets, sales will begin at the end of 2019.
According to Porsche’s preliminary specifications, the Taycan will have an electrical installation that drives each axle, and the total power will be more than 600 horsepower. The battery should provide a range of 500 kilometers.
Porsche says it has already received over 20,000 pre-orders for Taycan. To cope with such popularity, the brand is already increasing its production capacity.
In 2020, the Taycan family replenished wagon Sport Turismo. In 2021, the German brand will present the electric version of the Macan crossover – it is known that the car will be assembled on a platform different from the one on which the crossover is built with an internal combustion engine.
