Journalists caught the “charged” crossover Mercedes-AMG GLB 35November 23, 2018
So far, the new crossover of the German brand Mercedes-Benz has not been officially introduced. Well, as you can see from the photos presented here, the automaker’s engineers began testing a high-performance version of their new product. The car has already managed to ride a couple of times on the legendary Nürburgring race track (Germany).
I must say that these pictures of the long-awaited German news look a little different, compared to the photos that we saw not so long ago.
Well, firstly, this time, the observed prototype received a lowered suspension, as well as huge rims with low profile tires. At the rear of the compact crossover, two twin tailpipes of the exhaust system appeared.
According to insiders, the German novelty, which received the platform from the current A-class, will inherit the power plant from it – the engine will be taken from the “charged” AMG A35. This is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, designed for 302 horsepower. The crossover will naturally get a proprietary all-wheel drive system. There are also rumors about the possible appearance of more power GLB 45.
We know that sales of the usual Mercedes-Benz GLB-class are scheduled for next year. Presentation of new items can be held at the Detroit Auto Show (USA) or Geneva (Switzerland). A hotter version from AMG will appear at the end of 2019 as the 2020 model.
