Journalists captured the updated Skoda RapidSeptember 19, 2018
As reported by our foreign colleagues, a completely new version of the Czech Skoda Rapid in the body of the hatchback was seen on the Nürburgring race track. It is known that the novelty is built on the modular platform MQB from the German automobile concern Volkswagen Group. Officially introduced car will be early next year.
The captured Czech novelty may seem quite similar to the Skoda Rapid in the performance of Spaceback – another variation of the conventional wagon. But still today we have nothing more than a 5-door hatchback – we note that this is a completely new modification of the Czech compact model. It is known that the novelty is built on the modular platform MQB from the German automobile concern Volkswagen Group. Officially introduced car will be early next year. It is noteworthy that the novelty will replace itself as the usual version of the Rapid liftback, and the execution of Spaceback.
Despite the fact that for the first time, a test prototype of the car was shown about a week ago, Skoda engineers are already testing an updated version of the Rapid in an almost serial body. This means that the official premiere may take place very soon – this is better nuzzled after some sources have reported that the car is scheduled for display early next year.
Putting into operation a new type of body is not the only news from Skoda – the car will also get a new name. This company management wants to say that the model will not be any way similar to all previous versions of Rapid.
The head of sales and marketing of the Czech brand Alain Favi noted that Rapid will turn into a “real rival to the German Volkswagen Golf” and it will differ significantly from the Octavia model. I must say that judging by the way a test prototype of a car drives, You are waiting for a really unexpected and pleasant surprise.
And what in the end? According to the idea of the guys from Skoda, we will get a familiar car that will get a cardinally new control, increased comfort and a good list of equipment with additional options. Well, time will tell.
