Journalists captured the updated crossover SEAT AtecaMarch 19, 2020
During a series of road tests, a prototype of the updated Spanish crossover SEAT Ateca was spotted. The new 2021 model year will receive a significantly changed appearance.
Seat’s best-selling crossover, the Ateca model, is preparing to receive its first update in the middle of the life cycle, four years after the start of production. A compact novelty, which received a small camouflage, captured in Northern Europe. In front, the car received an updated bumper and a slightly larger radiator grill, as well as new headlights with different LED graphics.
The rear of the car is also different – in particular, with new LED taillights and a modified bumper that no longer has cutouts for exhaust pipes, at least on this particular prototype.
Inside, it is expected to update the upholstery and trim. It is believed that the infotainment system will receive new software, most likely there will be no more changes. The composition of the driver assistance package may also be reviewed, although it is too early to talk about it.
The novelty will be built on the MQB platform from the German concern Volkswagen Group and will probably be offered with the same engines as before, well, unless they are improved to meet more stringent emission standards. New electrified power plants can be presented in the form of soft hybrids and, possibly, PHEV – a plug-in hybrid engine.
It is believed that the Spanish automaker will first introduce the updated Ateca in a few months, and then launch it at the end of the year. The model will continue to challenge other compact crossovers such as the Nissan Qashqai, Ford Kuga, Opel / Vauxhall Grandland X and Honda CR-V.
