Journalists captured the unusual Cadillac CT5-VNovember 1, 2018
It’s not entirely clear what the Americans are testing. But in any case – the company Cadillac is preparing something exciting!
A rather unusual prototype of an American sedan was spotted by journalists at the site of the General Motors automobile concern (the Cadillac brand is part of the concern). The car uses most of the exterior panels of the existing CTS-V. Note that the width of the hind wings on it is much larger than usual. In addition, the unpainted rear bumper also seems wider.
What is it before us – the new version of the “charged” CTS-V or the high-performance version of the new model of the company – the CT5 sedan?
According to insiders, the upcoming CT5 will be put on the conveyor in the second half of 2019 as the sedan of 2020 model year. This time can give Cadillac engineers enough time to create a more hardcore performance of the existing CTS-V.
Like the future CT6-V, it is clear that the CT5 will eventually also have a more powerful version. But what will be the novelty under the hood? Perhaps it is a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, with a capacity of 640 horsepower. In the sports coupe Corvette Z06 the power of this engine is 650 hp. By the way, wider rear wings will allow the car to get wheels with a greater width, which will favorably affect its results.
If this test prototype is still a CT5-V, then it can be equipped with a 4.2-liter 2-cylinder Blackwing V8 engine that produces 550 hp.
Not so long ago, the press service of the American brand Cadillac announced a sports crossover XT4 V-Sport.
