Journalists captured the BMW M2 prototype in a powerful CS versionJune 18, 2019
New spy shots show the high-performance BMW M2 coupe in a powerful CS version, and now we can see the interior of the car. The premiere of the long-awaited news is expected next year.
Contrary to earlier rumors, there are no major changes in the cabin of the novelty, besides other sports seats and a chic steering wheel with Alcantara trim (such a steering wheel is a separate option). BMW is not even trying to hide the interior of the powerful coupe, which is not a big surprise now, when the standard version of the high-performance coupe M2 is on sale.
Outside, the Bavarian novelty wears the same black camouflage film that we saw on other test prototypes. Despite this, aggressive changes in the front bumper are easily noticeable, as is a more convex hood.
The film also hides carbon fiber components – dealers’ bulletins have leaked information that there will be elements from this material throughout the car, in particular, the hood, roof, side mirrors and rear diffuser. In addition, we suspect that there are a few fake panels on the spotted car, which should confuse journalists and not make it clear all the features of the new body.
Under the hood, the car should have a 3.0-liter in-line engine. The official maximum power rating has not been disclosed yet, but we have heard unofficial data on 444 horsepower driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed DCT or six-speed manual gearbox.
Production of high-performance M2 CS is scheduled to begin next March, and the official debut of the new product is likely to take place next year at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
