Journalists capture the most powerful version of Renault MeganeMay 25, 2019
Journalists photographed the prototype of the most powerful performance of the French compact hatchback. Renault Megane RS Trophy-R should compete with the Japanese Honda Civic Type R.
Just about, the French automaker – the company Renault, will present an updated version of its most powerful hatchback Renault Megane RS Trophy-R. We firmly believe that the spotted prototype is exactly the “hotter” version of the current Megane Trophy-R. This can be judged by the new hood with a “scoop” surrounded by a pair of vents. On top of the hood there is a layer of disguise to hide the design.
If the new Megane RS looks like its predecessor, it will most likely throw off a couple of kilograms, since the “current” car managed to lose 100 kilograms in its desire to become the fastest front-wheel-drive car on the Nurburgring racetrack.
Although it is not immediately noticeable, on both sides of the “hot” hatchback some plastic lining of approximately the same white tint was applied as the rest of the body. We do not see any changes from behind, but this may be due to the fact that Renault engineers have not yet installed all the serial components on this prototype. Of course, there is also the likelihood that Trophy-R will get the back end from the standard model performance.
It was almost five years ago, when the “old” model appeared without rear seats and without some elements that only prevented her from “losing weight”. There was no air conditioning or radio, but the brake system was better than all other Megane.
It remains to be seen whether the new Trophy-R will be as exclusive as its predecessor, which was released in a circulation of 250 units. The official presentation of the new product is expected at the end of this year.
