We wrote about how Jenson Button intrigued the racing community – the 2009 world champion announced the news from his Rocket Motorsport GT racing team.
Fans began to put forward various versions, to the extent that the team will perform in Le Mans, and today an official statement was made – in 2020 the team will again spend the full season in GT World Challenge Europe, but on the new machine – McLaren 720S GT3.
Last season, the Button team performed at the Honda NSX GT3, and the best result was fourth in the 24-hour Spa.
Jenson Button: “After the inspiring first season last year, I am glad that in 2020 the team will play on the McLaren 720S GT3. Twelve months ago, we launched this project with Bob Neville and almost climbed the podium at Spa.
We laid the foundations that will allow the team to become successful. The struggle in the GT escalates, this championship is becoming one of the most difficult in the world. GT is a fantastic series for the team and a great platform to help young riders progress. ”
