Jeep published the first image of a special version of Wrangler, which was prepared specifically for participation in the annual “Easter Safari” in the stony and desert neighborhood of the city of Moab, Utah. In 2018, the race will be held from March 24 to April 1.
Judging by teasers, Jeep specially for this event will release two concepts at once. Also in the project traditionally takes part company Mopar, the manufacturer of accessories and accessories to off-road cars.
One of the concepts was called Jeepster. Previously, this name was planned to be used for the new compact crossover brand. The concept will be built on the basis of a new generation of Wrangler, which was introduced in November last year at a car dealership in Los Angeles. Judging by the image, the novelty will receive a two-tone color of the body.
The body of the second prototype is painted in orange. The car will receive a trapezoidal grille, round headlights and massive rims.
The new generation Wrangler SUV retained the frame structure, but received an aluminum body. Due to this the weight of the car decreased by 90 kilograms. The new Wrangler retained removable body panels, doors and windshield.
The off-road car was equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo with four cylinders. The power of the unit is 268 horsepower. Previously it was assumed that the output of this engine would be equal to 373 horsepower. In addition, the engine of the new SUV included a modernized 3.5-liter V6 Pentastar unit with a capacity of 285 horsepower.
