Jeep Renegade and Compass received 240-strong hybridsMarch 5, 2019
The company decided to update its models, paying tribute to trends with environmental friendliness. Now both models can boast of powerful hybrid systems with an electric range of up to 50 km.
Hybrid versions of Jeep Renegade and Compass will not in any way impersonate their fellows with ICE. The network hosted a presentation of hybrid versions of models that will receive under the hood of a 1.3-liter gasoline turbo engine, working in tandem with an electric motor. The manufacturer acted quite cleverly: the ICE is responsible for the front axle, and the electric motor for the rear one. This ensures the operation of the hybrid system, as well as the intellectual system of all-wheel drive without a cardan shaft.
Jeep Renegade and Compass with a hybrid system will be offered in several power options from 190 to 240 horsepower. In the top version, the compact crossover will be able to accelerate to the “hundred” in seven seconds. For Compass characteristics are not reported yet.
A lithium-ion battery with an unknown capacity will be used as an electrical power source. Jeep is assured of a power reserve of up to 50 km, and the maximum speed in electric car mode will be 130 km / h, but this will contribute to a quick discharge.
Another feature of the PHEV versions will be an updated instrument panel and multimedia, modified specifically to display additional information about the state of the hybrid system.
