Jeep Grand Wagoneer Woody presented in retro styleSeptember 4, 2020
Independent designers take us back to 1985.
As soon as rumors of a Jeep Grand Wagoneer reboot surfaced on the internet, anyone familiar with the original surely foresaw the grandiose wooden sideboards. For those who didn’t know, the Wagoneer remained “wooden” for decades, first with Kaiser and then with AMC. He finally left in 1991 – four years after Chrysler came to power.
An unofficial rendering of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Woody appeared on the web yesterday. Artists at Abimelec Design posted images of this gorgeous faux-wood SUV on their Facebook page just five hours after FCA unveiled the concept.
And we are not ashamed to admit that he looks absolutely perfect in white. The abundance of chrome combined with the shimmery white finish helps the wood insert really stand out. The off-road styling is pretty boring these days, so maybe a little wood is just what the Grand Wagoneer needs. Of course, the Grand Wagoneer has yet to arrive.
Debuting today, Jeep is a three-row concept SUV that will go into production in both the Wagoneer version and the top-of-the-line Grand Wagoneer. Expect a production model to arrive in 2022.
