Jeep Compass got new enginesMay 6, 2020
Jeep updated the Compass line of petrol engines.
Jeep currently supplies Compass with 140-horsepower and 170-horsepower versions of its 1.4 MultiAir gasoline engine, but now the old engines are being replaced with brand new 1.3-liter power plants of the Firefly FCA family. The new power supply is available in two versions, depending on the gearbox selected.
Jeep Compass with a 6-speed manual gearbox implies a 130-horsepower version of the 1.3-liter engine, the cost of which varies between 31,900 – 36,400 euros. When ordering Compass with automatic transmission, a 150-horsepower version of the same engine is offered at a price of 36,000 to 42,000 euros.
According to the publication autoweek.nl, the 130-horsepower version of the Jeep Compass accelerates to 100 km / h in 10.3 seconds. The maximum speed of this modification is 192 km / h. 150 horsepower options accelerates to 100 km / h in just 9.2 seconds. The maximum speed of the most powerful SUV in the line is 199 km / h.
Jeep also developed a plug-in hybrid version of Compass with a capacity of 240 hp, which should travel about 50 kilometers on electric traction. Its starting price is 47,990 euros for the First Edition version. Compass PHEV will be available this summer.
