Jeep can release a small crossoverJanuary 25, 2018
At present, the smallest SUV in the brand’s lineup is the Jeep Renegade, which is 396 cm long. For comparison, the length of the flagship Grand Cherokee is 487 cm. But in Jeep they decided that the crossover could be even smaller by planning the production of a subcompact SUV for the European market
The company is reportedly considering “what is very close” to a possible SUV smaller than the Renegade, said Jeep executive Mike Manley in an interview with Automotive News. A small Jeep could be built in Europe and destined for a global market, with the exception of the United States – for them it is very small.
It is assumed that the release of the new Jeep could be set up at the facilities of the FCA plant in Italy’s Pomigliano, where Fiat Panda is currently assembled. It is noted that Jeep is exploring the possibility of producing a small SUV at the above plant from the beginning of 2017, and a platform for it can be borrowed from Panda or 500th.
The latest novelty of Jeep brand was the Grand Commander SUV, the official images and videos of which were published several days ago.
