Jaguar will develop a new extreme supercarMay 1, 2018
The British confirmed the work on the Project 9. According to preliminary data, Jaguar will release a sports version of the crossover E-Pace or F-Pace
The company Jaguar will develop a new extreme version of one of its models, which will receive the designation Project 9 – similar to Project 7 and Project 8. About this edition of Top Gear said the head of Special Vehicles Operations John Edwards.
“Definitely, we will create Project 9, but until we know exactly what kind of car it will be,” Edwards explained. It is assumed that the British can build a “charged” version of the crossover E-Pace or F-Pace, or the XJ sedan.
Earlier it became known that Jaguar modernized the most powerful and fastest road car in its history – 600-hp sedan XE SV Project 8. So, engineers of the British brand used new silentblocks and stiffer springs in the suspension, and reinforced engine mounts. Plus, on the sedan used modernized brake mechanisms, providing an “improved sense of the pedal.”
Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is equipped with a five-liter compressor eight-cylinder engine from the supercar F-Type SVR, the output of which increased from 575 to 600 horsepower. The torque remained the same – 700 Nm. Supersedan can accelerate from place to 96 km / h in 3.3 seconds, and its maximum speed exceeds 320 km per hour.
