Jaguar Land Rover plans expansion of the SVR lineMay 20, 2020
The success of the flagship Range Rover Sport SVR is underpinned by strong sales of the “charged” F-Pace and Velar.
Sales of Jaguar Land Rover SVR models grew 64% to more than 9,500 last year. They were supported by continued high demand for the five-year Range Rover Sport SVR, with important new contributions from the two latest SVO models, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR and the Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic, which were launched last year.
Most SVO offers are currently based on SUVs, as the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 and F-Type SVR have completed their course, but Managing Director Michael van der Sande insists that the company expects further expansion in its SVR portfolio. Along with a wide range of SVRs, van der Sande explains the success of his division with the rapid increase in the number of SVR centers around the world.
There are currently 100 of them, but he expects that number to rise to about 200 “over the next few years.” Van der Sande says his division has learned a lot from the large JLR dealership, which opened in Munich, Germany about six months ago, with a range of configurations for the SV. The exhibition features seven SVO cars, the largest lineup outside the UK.
“As you can imagine, we strive to meet the demand in Germany, which is going well, but we also learn a lot for the future of our business in other places. We want the staff at these new centers to serve premium customers as they expect, and have deep product knowledge, ”said Managing Director Michael van der Sande.
